The story..
Kerana and the Astronauts is an alternative rock band created in the winter of 2018.
The group includes the musicians Dimitar Penchev drummer and percussionist, Elena Ilcheva -bass guitar, reed and vocals, graduated from AMTII with a degree in bass guitar
Pavel Vidov -guitar, graduated from AMTII with a degree in pop and jazz guitar.
Nikolay Bobchev -saxophone, guitar and double bass, graduated from AMTII with a degree in pop and jazz guitar.
Preslav Peev -saxophone, graduated also from AMTII.
Kerana -vocals.
The voice of the Kerana band graduated in Munich, Germany, majoring in music management.
At the end of her education she goes on an internship in Thailand, where she started working and took part in various jazz festivals. Her irresistible desire to create original music and write in her native language brought her back to Plovdiv.
Her meeting with Pavel Vidov, guitarist of Kerana and the astronauts, turned out to be crucial. A little later they were joined by Elena Ilcheva, bass guitar, reed and vocals, followed by the rest of the crew.
The lyrics of all the songs are by Kerana, and the music and arrangements are a group work.
After participating in and reaching the finals of the TV music format The Voice of Bulgaria in 2020, Kerana is definitely becoming one of the fastest growing artists on the Bulgarian music scene. Her original and extremely full presence as a performer in combination with her professional attitude to art are noticed by another genre of music -in 2019 she received an invitation for the role of Evita in the musical of the same name, produced by Plovdiv Opera directed by Nina Naidenova. In 2021 the musical Jesus Christ Superstar premiered -directed by Veselka Kuncheva, again produced by Opera Plovdiv
